Kelly Osbourneis sharing why she’s now a fan of Ozempic after initially criticizing the drug and its popularity for weight loss.
During the latest episode ofThe Osbournes Podcast, the 39-year-old opened up about how she changed her stance onOzempic, an FDA-approved prescription medication for people with type 2 diabetes.
It’s one of the brand names for semaglutide — also known asWegovy— which works in the brain to impact satiety. Using it for weight loss has become popular in and out of Hollywood.
“They explained to me how it took the mental obsession with food away and from that reprieve allowed them to dig deeper through therapy and really figure out who they were and how life-changing it was for them,” she continued. “It completely changed my opinion on it so I’m like yeah, it’s great. If there’s a medication out there that can help people lose weight then what’s so bad about it?”
In February, Kelly boasted thatOzempic is “amazing,”even though her motherSharon Osbournepublicly disagreed.
“The people who hate on it the most are the people who are secretly doing it or pissed off that they can’t afford it,” she toldE! Online. “Unfortunately, right now it’s something that is very expensive but it eventually won’t be because it actually works."
Kelly — who hadgestational diabeteswhile pregnant withson Sidney— continued defending the medication, saying, “People hate on it because they want to do it. There are a million ways to lose weight, why not do it through something that’s isn’t as boring as working out?”

The star didn’t say whether she’s taken the drug, but she has previously shared with fans details of her85-lb. weight lossdue togastric sleeve surgery.
“I had surgery; I don’t give a f— what anyone has to say,” she told Dax Holt and Adam Glynon theirHollywood Rawpodcast, in response to rumors about plastic surgery. “I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done.”
Meanwhile, Sharon isn’t holding back on Ozempic, heavily criticizing the drug after trying it herself and admitting she lost too much weight. She toldThe Guardianthat swearing off Ozempic and surgery has allowed her to “finally” be happy with her appearance.
“I’m through with the weight loss and all that cosmetic stuff,”she told the outlet. “I was injecting myself with Ozempic and I lost three stone [about 42 lbs.] in four months. Too much. I now weigh seven stone [98 lbs.] and can’t put on weight.”
“I’m shaping up fine," she said. “I’ve finally become more accepting of my body, my looks.”
