Jacob Elordiis making a sizzlingSaturday Night Livedebut.
TheSaltburnactor, 26, hosted this weekend’s episode of the comedy sketch show, the first of 2024, which opened with a monologue where Elordi discussed his hit movieSaltburnand even gave the audiences a taste of a particularly raunchy scene from the movie.
“So you might know me fromSaltburn,” he continued, adding, “not from seeing the film, just from seeing the TikToks, like this scene…”
At that point, a particularly sexual scene from the movie, which featured a nakedBarry Keoghan—who played the role of Oliver Quick — on top of a grave, appeared on screen, prompting laughter and cheers from the studio audience.
“Before we start I just want to take a moment to say how grateful I am to be here,” he said, adding, “I’ve been acting now for like seven years and it’s so easy to get caught up in the rush of trying to get to the next thing and the next thing. But tonight… the people… I love it here, you all are here, and because if you I’m here. So thank you, thank you so much,” he said.
Elordi also appeared in various sketches during the show, including one where he advised aspiring actors, which includedRachel McAdamsplaying an actress who looked like McAdams. The Mean Girls actress had earliermade a surprise cameo to introduce musical guestReneé Rapp.
Wednesday’s initial promorevealed Elordi’s case of stage fright — or stair fright, as he found himself unable to climb down the three steps leading to the mainstage. “
“They all make it look so easy,” theEuphoriastar muttered to himself between rapid cuts of prior hosts’ entrances, includingKim KardashianandZac Efron. An ‘80s-style training montage of Elordi’s attempts to crawl and slide down the stairs plays as cast members Marcello Hernández andPunkie Johnsonhype him up.

“You got it buddy,” Hernández encouraged, while Johnson added, “Let’s go, J.”
In one final try, Elordi rehearsed a gracious entrance, only to faceplant at the foot of the stairs after his shoe caught on the landing.
“I’m good, I’m good,” thePriscillaactor groaned, still on the ground.
Last month,SNLannounced Elordi as its first host of 2024, with Rapp to accompany as the musical guest. He reposted the iconicSNLcorkboardon Instagram, earning reactions from stars likeSofia CoppolaandRachel Zegler.
The gig follows a productive and star-making 2023 for Elordi, who has starred in four films this past year includingEmerald Fennell’sSaltburnand Coppola’sPriscilla.
It also comes after the U.S. theatrical release of his crime dramaHe Went That Wayon Jan. 5, where he plays a killer hitchhiker huntingZachary Quinto.
His busy schedule continues into 2024, where he will appear in the dramasOn Swift HorsesandOh, Canada. In addition, he’s beentapped to play Frankenstein’s monsteroppositeOscar Isaacin aGuillermo del Toro-directed Netflix film of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel.
