Muralist Hitnes is pass three calendar month retracing the steps of natural scientist John James Audubon — and paint sensational portrait of the skirt specie who live along the way .
Hitnes first move around to Philadelphia in late July , and from there , on to Mill Grove , Penn . , the land site of Audubon ’s first base in the United States . The creative person next exit to work at Easton , Md. ’s Pickering Creek Audubon Sanctuary , painting a large - than - life green heron and a ruby - fly blackbird there , and has since visited Charleston , Miami , and other locations .
