Here’s Your First Look atThe Flash‘s Godspeed, and His Uncomfortable God-Crotch

Up close , with some courteous light ? The CW ’s take on Godspeed does n’t seem all that bad . But when you see it in full , you ca n’t unsee the speedster ’s bulge as anything but a causa for peradventure purely adhering to the informant textile not always being the ripe idea .

Ahead of this week ’s sequence — titled “ Godspeed ” ; it ’s also the directorial launching of Caitlin Snow herself , Danielle Panabaker — the CW has unloosen the first prescribed images of The Flash ’s take on DC Rebirth comics speedster Godspeed .

Created by Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico for The Flash ’s relaunch as part of the Rebirth initiative in 2016 , Godspeed — a.k.a . August Heart , a former colleague of Barry ’s from Central City PD who give-up the ghost rogue after gain ground speedforce office — has the power to discerp other speedsters from their connection to the speedforce ( often to black effect ) . And , for the most part , the CW ’s version is a pretty faithful version of it . But when we get to see it in the other word-painting the internet released … well :

Does n’t see so great in that flavorless lighting and a position that , in all honestly , looks a mountain less like a location of power and more like someone who ’s about to accelerate their way to the nigh loo . But it ’s also a reminder that sometimes , mirthful book suit designs do n’t always have the practical needs of lively - action adjustment in psyche when they ’re being weigh . In comics , lighting is master by the colorist and inker , who can always perfectly accent a design — they do n’t have to recall about a scenario with sterile , matt lighting like the one bechance above .

They also do n’t have to think of the very practical interrogation of , err , the fact that an actor has to suit up in this very rigorous onesie get - up and administer with the fact that they are , outdoors of someoccasionally mildly controversialmoments , not as Ken - Doll - esque as comic record superheroes can afford to be . Everything show up up more in white , manifestly .
