Google has annunciate a rather bold move today : It will no longer censor hunting results on Google.cn , the Chinese version of the search locomotive engine . Apparently they will maintain this stance , even if it ends in shutting down Google.cn .
harmonize to a Charles William Post on the Official Google Blog :
We have decided we are no longer unforced to cover censoring our event on Google.cn , and so over the next few weeks we will be talk over with the Chinese government the base on which we could operate on an unfiltered search locomotive engine within the jurisprudence , if at all . We recognize that this may well mean having to shut down Google.cn , and potentially our place in China .

Google explains that part of the motivation behind this action are the late cyber attacks on Google as well as “ at least twenty other large company ” over the course of the last month :
These attacks and the surveillance they have uncovered — fuse with the try over the past year to further limit gratis words on the web — have moderate us to conclude that we should review the feasibleness of our business operation in China
While it remains to be seen how the Chinese government reacts to this move , I could n’t be prouder of Google for make it . I hope that other major net property follow suit and that perhaps we ’ll see an end of interior filter and censoring one of these daylight . [ Google BlogviaGuardian ]
