Perhaps this is why neither he nor Cung Le would n’t really go into any sorting of detail about the unexampled futurist horror feature , this past weekend at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors show . frightened of the The Desecent - like mutant people who appear to have taken over the darkened starship , perhaps ?
Foster did excuse that mind tricks , identity issues and memory loss are a bad part of the moving picture . Which takes place after he and his captain , Dennis Quaid , wake up on an empty vessel , completely incognizant of what ’s take place , and where the residuum of the 60,000 person crew went . After they get attacked by an unknown being , it ’s up to Foster to pull himself together and find the rest of the passengers . At a small roundtable audience , the doer tried to give us just a taste without giving away what is most likely the big twist ending for Pandorum .
Ben , what was it about this character that appeal to you ?
I liked the theme of not commemorate who you are . And having to get back to a primitive chemical reaction . I like the nightmare element in it . I do n’t know how you Guy sleep , but I do n’t sleep too well . I need to diddle with that experience of being so lost , having to depend on instinct . We ’ve all had these nightmares in reality getting to fetch these things into a life experience was exciting to act as with .
Your fictional character ca n’t have a backstory , how do you make yourself not think ?
Very basically it ’s , “ where did I put my keys ? ” But then you add crack to that . On a blank space ship , in the future .
The trailer looks like it plays around with tight spaces ?
It plays with both phobias : agoraphobia and a claustrophobia . It switch between tight very uncomfortable spaces and a grandness which make you feel more inconsequential and endanger .
You mentioned that this flick is substantially violent , how so ?
It ’s a thriller , a scifi horror movie . It recoil through a lot of dissimilar genres . I ideate it will invoke to a wider interview , it sure enough scared the shit out of me when I read it … . When I read this hand , it had me . There were a lot of interesting strong-arm twists and forcible demand which were exciting to act with .
Let ’s talk about the ship you ’re bait around in . It ’s supposed to carry 60,000 rider , correct ? Can you key it at all ?
It ’s extraordinarily immense , because it play with remembering [ the movie ] and identity , it jumps around a bit . And I hypothesise the exciting thing , it would be sort of a drag to give it all off , but you start in a small infinite that can allow you to hold up , the quietus chamber . You come out of the sopor sleeping room , which you see in the preview , and you have to face this environment which expand and put in a level of violence which you have to taste and survive .
Any minuscule earth building details you may severalize us about this time to come ?

Cung Le : On my first day on set I took next to Ben , and Ben ’s all , “ Cung , we ’re on a spaceship , homo . ” And I looked down the hall , it was one of the scenes where we had to bunk . We were sprint from one end to the other , and we had to get focused and get into character , because you ’re on a space ship .
But he did n’t go into item , and interestingly enough the trailer still has n’t demo that this Vietnamese - talk role player and Middleweight Champion does n’t actuallyspeak a lick of Englishfor the entire flick .

Confused ? You bethcha , but if you put Ben Foster in something and then label it “ on crack ” I ’m sound to see it . We ’ll have to keep wait for the September 4th release day of the month , to find out more about this strange , ultra - violent white - mutant - plagued quad ship crew by a bunch of unretentive passenger . earnestly does anyone even think Dennis Quaid is even in this movie , outside of Foster ’s psyche ? I ’m open to hearing theories . How many of you think it ’s all in someone ’s psyche , and how many of you call back it ’s a human - versus - pathologic - human being flick ?
