The New York Times revealed the back and new title for Neil Gaiman ’s Sandman comic , now titled Overture , about the circumstances that led Dream to getting so easily captured in Sandman # 1 . It ’s also the spearpoint for Vertigo ’s endeavor to rebuild itself as DC ’s home for its most venturous , esthetic works .
From the clause :
Superheroes are the lifeblood of the mirthful book industry and have proved to be a big attractor at the box business office . But Vertigo , whose slating includes phantasy , horror and wondering fable outside of the publisher ’s mainstream batting order , has had difficultness building an audience and developing new properties .

DC , whose parent companionship isTime Warner , is hop to exchange Vertigo ’s fortune this fall with six newfangled series premiering from October to December . The most expect project , “ The Sandman : Overture , ” a miniskirt - series by Neil Gaiman , will begin on Oct. 30 .
… The new serial stay on that trend and let in “ Hinterkind , ” by Ian Edginton , which sharpen on a post - revelatory world in which the creatures of myth and legend have returned , and “ The Discipline , ” by Peter Milligan , an erotic thriller about a woman at the center of an phantasm war that traverse eon .
I judge Fables and The Unwritten have been around long enough that they ’ve lost their eroticism , but the first two military issue of Scott Snyder ’s The Wake have been great , so I do n’t think Vertigo has a job with its depicted object as much as it has a job with its perceptual experience . But a fresh Sandman comedian should help that vastly . What do you guys suppose ?
