This is the Lost Girl episode I ’ve been waiting for allseason . Tamsin returns , Bo is a hot badass , there ’s a mystery to solve , we geta sex view in a boxing ring , and a Spice Girls song . look , what ?
This episode , “ Turn to Stone , ” was great in several ways , butmostly because the writing was just stronger . Better dialogue and a more focusedplot . Notice we never watch Hale or Trick . There was the main plot of Bo andKenzi cope with Massimo , which cross with the “ Tamsin is growing up sofast ” secret plan . The only side plot was Lauren , and that was handled very nicelytoo . I can only hope this is a sign of things to add up this season .
We also got undecomposed former randy Bo back . The episode starts rightoff with a education session in a boxing ring giving Bo a completely contrivedexcuse to screw Dyson to the sounds of Deap Vally ’s “ Baby I Call Hell . ” Andlater when they ’re flirting in the law station , Bo tell Dyson that if he’sgood he can , “ go in all the stores ” on their shopping trip . So we learned somenew things about Dyson ’s physical body ( “ You seem to care it … in a huge way . ” ) andwhat Bo is interested in doing with that anatomy . There ’s a even a classicsuccubus semi - threesome when Bo starts dancing and the hot couple she ’s withjust starts stripping down . utter about getting your mojo back .
There were loads of great one - liners this calendar week , too . “ It’slike occupy France in here . ” “ Three – nothing Bo . ” And my favorite , Massimo referringto Bo and Kenz as , “ the ambiguously fuel-air explosive duo . ” real guffaws there .
Tamsin morph from a stripling into her tangible form prettyquickly . She likes the 10 - Files and donut . Having her act like a trivial kidcertainly puts the kibosh on Valkubus shippers . Although there was a glimmer ofhope there when Bo told Tamsin she thought she was awesome in her previouslife . It was mirthful when Tamsin demand , “ Was I a dependable bull ? ” No Tamsin . You werenot .
Massimo the Druid made for a good scoundrel for a little whilethere , one step ahead of the Scooby gang , super smarmy , yet they ca n’t justkick his ass because he provides Kenzi ’s fake fuel-air explosive powers . Then he gets extracreepy when he indicate up at the flat to kidnap Tamsin . She ’s still actinglike a little kid , and he totally plays the minor molester part , winning hertrust and act on her insecurity .
The most important aspect of this scene is that Kenzifinally comes clean about her desire for fae powers , her insecurity livingamong fae , and her awe that Bo might leave behind again . Oh , and that she made outwith Dyson . Bo is pissed , but later they make up , write off as a fightbetween category members . I was really impressed with how vulnerable Ksenia Solomade Kenzi in this scene , a far cry from her common brash sureness . The ignus barrierspecial effect were pretty excellent too !
When Bo shows up to face Massimo , who was onlydistracting them so he could get to Tamsin , we see that he wants “ youngValkyrie hair . ” He somehow gets the drop on Bo and has a razor to her neck , butTamsin then transforms , sprouting wings . Massimo is stunned , and we take thatthis is Tamsin ’s “ last life ” – if she expire again , no more resurrection . I lovehow Tamsin looked with the wings – that avenging angel , harbinger of doom thingis like catnip to me . Bo and Tam hug it out , then Bo browbeats Massimo , giveshim a succuba job , and is surprised to memorise that he ’s human ( we ’ve sleep with thisall along , right ? ) .
Then Massimo completely undoes whatever “ cool villain ” credhe had , mewl about his mammy and eventually hopping into a molten firething he had at some point flip together . So no more Massimo I guess .
Lauren and Crystal are imprisoned – Lauren concede tobeing an eco - terrorist in her past tense , but then agnise the lightsome fuel-air explosive have nabbedthem . Crystal evidence her she catch some Z’s her as part of the architectural plan to stay close andlearn about her , which is exactly what Lauren did to Bo once upon a fourth dimension . “ Spybanged . ” Lauren does some inquiry , bring out that some elder fuel-air explosive matter has MadCow Disease . She assumes Hale is behind this , but the room access open and it isn’tHale . Looking forward to the big reveal there . Also looking forrad to a newer , more badass Lauren . At the very terminal , Bo just show up at the Una Mens abode . Some kind of drippy cave . Earlier , Massimo observed that the gargoyle that hadbeen vexing Bo was n’t his doing , as they only serve up elder fuel-air explosive . That gargoylewas screaming . It looked like something I bought at Spencer Gifts in the mallin 1996 . But it was dandy seeing Bo just straight up not give a Irish bull about theUna Mens and all their qabalistic fuel-air explosive gimcrack . Her poise bumble a bit when theyrevealed they had no interest in her , since she was no longer unaligned . Iguess the gargoyle did a blood trial run , and it came back positive for darkfaeness .
