At Treehotel in the north of Sweden , the room rise up like trees in an enchanted forest : a UFO , a mirrorcube , a giant bird ’s nest . It ’s some of your furious puerility fantasies — bring to life by Swedish architect . So how did it all begin ?
The hotel is the work of its two founder , Britta and Kent , who were inspired by the 2008 film The Tree Lover — a taradiddle of three urban center dwellers who ramp up a treehouse together . When they Treehotel first open in 2010 — and when Gizmodo publish about the peculiarly sci - fi lookingMirrorcube(above)—it was just part complete , with a smattering of “ treerooms , ” each hang 12 to 20 feet above the ground . But the hotel has since add up another treeroom called Dragonfly , for a total of six plus a treehouse sauna . And its possessor say they have plan to expand their woods hotel .
